Dr. Felix, Dentist and Owner
Welcome! I am the dentist and owner of Vista Family Dental Care since 2014. Our office has been a part of the North San Diego community since the 70’s. We are fortunate to have a family of patients both original to that time and new to the area and our practice. We love our new and established patients!
One of the most common questions I am asked is why I wanted to become a dentist? Well the truth is I always enjoyed projects, crafting and putting things together. So I guess I could have done a great number of different disciplines, but dentistry called to me late in my college career.
During this time I needed some dental work, which was not unusual for me. I must disclose that as a child I faithfully brushed my teeth at least once a day for two seconds. That being said I was no stranger to sugar or the dental chair. I felt so scared when I went to see my dentist, I craved to see a reassuring face. This was my ‘Aha’ moment and my purpose going to dental school.
Thus, my vision for the office is to provide quality dental care in a clean environment with a personal touch and excellent customer service. We continue to attend CE, grow, and adapt. Our work will never be done when it comes to continuing to strive to provide excellent care.
When I am not ridding the world of tooth decay I am at home with my husband, son, daughter, and Bisbee cat. There never seems to be enough time in the day to do all the activities I would like to do. I love arts and crafts, sports of all kinds, musicals, museums, hikes, and I just bought some yarn to learn to knit. I also enjoy visiting my brother in Texas and my parents in Orange County where I am from. Mostly I enjoy being with my family and enjoying day to day life, trying to soak it all in. No time is better spent then collaborating with my husband on a home improvement project, watching my son play sports or sing a song with my daughter. And also Bisbee cat in my lap and a cup of hot tea in my hand.
Dora, Registered Dental Hygienist
Hello my name is Dora and I have been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 30 years, 28 of those years in this office. I continue to take courses to further my knowledge and growth within the field of dentistry. I have been with Dr. Felix since she took over the practice and it has been a pleasure to be a part of the office’s evolution.
One of the most rewarding things about being a dental hygienist is educating and instilling confidence in my patients in regards to their unique, beautiful and healthy smiles.
I was born and raised in North County San Diego and there is no place I would rather be. My husband and I have 4 children, 2 grandchildren, 2 cats, and 1 dog. Our family loves spending quality time at cookouts and sporting events. Summer is our favorite time of the year because we get to travel and experience all of the wonders of San Diego together.
The personal relationships I have built with my co-workers ad patients keep me not only motivated but happy to continue my growth within this profession. Hope to see you soon!
Paige, Registered Dental Hygienist
I am of Polynesian decent, half Irish & half Samoan, a true island girl. My passion for dentistry started when I got a summer job filing charts in a local office. I never noticed people’s teeth until I started in that office, sadly growing up dentistry was not much of a priority. I loved the difference the dentist made in people’s lives! From getting people out of pain to completely new smiles, still amazes me to this day. Starting Dental Hygiene school showed me how much the mouth is linked to overall systemic health, and I truly enjoy being on the frontline of helping patients to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Teeth are only one of many passions; I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and advocating for many causes. I am a living kidney donor and advocate for others to be a living donor. I have a huge family and spend a lot of time joining walks or advocating for a cure for Diabetes, Muscular Dystrophy and other such illnesses. I have 2 boys that are college age that other than tuition check and breaks, I have plenty of time to pursue my many passions. I invite you to come get ‘Flossed in Paradise’ with Paige!
Valerie, Registered Dental Assistant
I was born and raised in Hawaii and Southern California. I graduated from Vista High School. After high school I attended Palomar College where completed the dental assistant program.
I have worked in general dentistry since completing the program. In my career I have enjoyed getting to know our patients and making a difference in their dental health and smiles.
Besides dentistry I have a full family life. I am married, a very proud mother and love being a grandmother. In addition to enjoying what I do in dentistry, I enjoy cooking, watching Korean dramas, gardening (I grew my first pineapple this year!), and adore love spending time with family, especially with my grandchildren.
Alexis, Office Manager
I was born in Los Angeles, and spent my formative years on the beautiful California central coast as the eldest of four girls and one boy. I am a huge fan of city life and I am grateful to have lived in some many exciting places before starting a family.
I was afforded the opportunity to eat my way through several countries, including Ecuador, where my mother was born. I hold a B.A. in Political Science from San Francisco State University, I am a mom of two humans and two pit pulls, and avoid the kitchen at all costs.
